Our Mission
Fields of Grace Ministries exists to disciple, educate, mentor and empower vulnerable children, young adults, and their families so they will rise to their full potential in Christ and have a positive influence on their community.
What We Do
Fields of Grace Ministries operates a rescue and restoration home, Joyful House, where orphaned and vulnerable Ugandan children receive loving care, education, and empowerment through God’s healing power. Most of our kids have come out of orphanages. A few have moms with HIV, who are too weak to physically care for their children.
Our team has spent countless hours finding identities, family connections, and truth. We also attempt to minister to any living family members, resettling children when possible. It takes time, patience, and Christ’s restorative power to put together the puzzle pieces. Identity is extremely important to us at Fields of Grace. For the orphaned child, “Who am I?” is an important question that needs to be answered.
We also partner with parents or closest living relatives. Our heart is to advocate for families. For some families, this looks like resettlement, with tuition reimbursement. For others, it looks like regular visits with family, while the child lives primarily at Joyful House.

* A note about sponsorship: At Fields of Grace, we firmly believe in letting kids be kids. Our kids know that others sponsor their school fees and living costs, but they do not know the identity of their sponsors. Many Ugandan children look to foreign sponsors as their overseas parents. We have seen this abused on both ends. We created this policy to protect everyone involved.
Making an Impact
Education is an extremely important part of Ugandan culture. Children are sent to quality, local schools, each tailored to their specific needs. We have some children studying to go to university and others who attend vocational schools. We prayerfully consider the strengths and talents God has given each child. We want them to be happy and fulfilled in their future employment. Our goal is for each child to be financially independent and future pillars in their families and communities.
Family
The children who are served in the school are either orphaned or come from families who cannot afford the care or education for their child(ren). Every child enrolled in our program is treated like family and goes home to family during school breaks. Those who do not have family remain and are cared for by the Fields of Grace Ministries’ school staff.
